Can I hook my iPod into my car stereo?
There are three ways to play your iPod through your car stereo.
- If your car has an audio input, or AUX, jack, all you'll need is a cable like this. Hook one end into your iPod and the other into the input jack and enjoy.
- If your car has no audio input jack, but does have a cassette deck, you'll need a cassette adapter, which is just a special cassette tape with a cable connected to it that you plug into your iPod. Degeeked recommends this adapter from Sony.
- If you have neither an audio input jack or a cassette player, you'll need to buy an FM transmitter. This device plugs into your iPod and broadcasts via an FM signal. You simply tune your radio to the station selected on the transmitter. This is also a good option if you want a clean, mostly wireless option. Degeeked recommends this FM Transmitter by Griffin, which pulls double duty and charges your iPod as well.
