I tried this today and its not true. They told me at the store they would only recycle my ipod if I were buying a new one that day. The sticker they send it out with apparently requires a transaction number.

Sunita - Sorry you had that experience. Unfortunately, it seems you were dealing with a misinformed Apple employee as Apple’s site clearly states: “The Apple Recycling Program offers free and environmentally friendly disposal of your iPod and cell phone with no purchase necessary.”
I would go back and try again. Maybe print out the page on Apple’s site linked to above as proof.

I have an old ipod mini (4gb) it still works apart from its battery needs replacing. I know you can recycle your old mobile phones for cheques but is there any website or place that will do the same for ipods etc?

I have an ipod touch with some movies on it. I reccently just went in to itunes and changed and the album artwork for the movies to the correct thing and edited some titles and stuff. I want to know how I update the album art work to the right on my ipod touch so that it matches my itunes.
