What’s the best point-and-shoot digital camera for under $100?

Just because you don't have a super budget for a point-and-shoot digital camera, doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to get super photos. Thankfully, camera makers agree and have started to come out with high quality cameras with top-dollar features for bargain basement prices.

DeGeeked's pick for the best digital point-and-shoot camera under $100 is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ8K. We pushed the limit on this one, because it comes in at $99.99 at Amazon, but it has the features of a much more expensive camera. Have a look:

  • 8 megapixels
  • 5x optical zoom
  • Image Stabilization (IS)
  • Face detection technology
  • Intelligent ISO
  • Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens

Panasonic's Lumix digital cameras are known for their quailty, and this camera is no exception, with a 4-star rating at Amazon.

The one drawback to the Lumix DMC-L8K is that it does not come with a memory card. However, since most digital camera makers package unusably small memory cards with even their most expensive cameras, a new memory card is almost an automatic accessory purchase with any digital camera no matter the price. DeGeeked recommends Sandisk memory cards, by the way.
