What’s the best digital camera for under $200?

This was an easy one for the DeGeeked crew. Canon makes the best point-and-shoot digital cameras on the market in general, and their two most popular cameras overall just happen to also be under $200. The Canon PowerShot SD770 packs 10 megapixels and a 3x optical zoom inside its sub-$200 frame. Plus its pocket-sized.

If you consider yourself a photog, you should go with the Canon Powershot SX110IS, which packs similar mexapixels, but has a 10x optical zoom. As we noted in our Digital vs. Optical zoom post, optical zoom should play as big, if not a bigger, role in choosing a camera as megapixels do. That said, the bigger lens comes with a larger body size, which may be as important as any of the stuff above. After all, if you don't bring your camera with you, it'll be pretty tough to take any pictures.
