What’s the best video camera for under $200?
Flip Video MinoHD is what you're looking for. Despite its diminutive size and low price, the Flip produces video that rivals that of camcorders costing much more. With 2 GB of flash memory, the Flip can record up to 60 minutes of video that looks sharp when played back on your laptop or television (TV cable included). The Flip camera boots up in two seconds flat and runs on two standard AA batteries. It comes with a pop-up USB port that plugs into any computer. Once plugged into a computer, the device automatically loads up the built-in editing software. Or you can take your camera to a local pharmacy, plug it into a photo kiosk, download your video, and make a DVD.
Not a fan of the Flip? The Kodak Zi6 HD is another great choice, and has a bit bigger screen than the flip.

Saw this used over the holidays. Really is amazing! Picture quality is great and portability is tremendous. Great for catching shots at the playground with lots of busy kids! Didn’t miss a thing.

@Leigh - This entry is actually due for an update, because now there are HD versions of these mini camcorders available! Unfortunately, the HD version of the Flip now comes in at $209, but it’s still a bargain.
The Kodak Zi6, the Flip’s main competitor, is $149, but doesn’t come with a memory card.
